    Exclamation Need some help Robert

    Hi Robert,
You seem to be the voice of calm and reason. I hope you have the time to help me. Things are about to get real serious for me. I've been taking pretty high doses of Oxy for over 10 yrs for a back injury. Work comp covered the Pain Mgmt & the meds but that ended and I'm about to run out. My anxiety, as you might guess is growing. I'm not even sure the pain from the injury will be there if I can get off these pills without something bad happening in the process. If you can help, let me know what you need from me. I will respond, though it's difficult to sit still and focus on writing.

After ten years on oxy I would read the following link. This is how I would suggest we do this and yes, I will help you through the entire process. I've done this for years and know how to do it I assure you! Let me know if you are ready. All I ask is that you be naive enough to do as I ask you to. God bless.

I usually suggest doing a cold turkey first, but after ten years on oxy this is your best chance for success. God bless.

I've read the info on the taper plan. I know my big obstacle is going to be anxiety and fear of WD. A question: are suboxone and subutex both available in film form?

Suboxone is available in both pill and filmstrip form. Sututex comes in pill form, both the name brand and a generic buprenorphine, which the generic is much less expensive and works fine.

If I induct you right here on the forum I will do it at a very small dose, usually less than 4mg TOTAL >> the 16mg a day or more that sub drs use. They don't know what they are doing in most cases. We can have you on and off in about two months give or take a couple weeks and you'll experience very minimal symptoms I assure you if you do this with me like I suggest.

I've done this a thousand times and know how to do it. Have some faith. Don't fear anything about this. I won't allow you to suffer. God bless.

I've made an appointment with my MD to see if he'll work with me on a taper or at least refer me to a pain management specialist who will. I realize that many doctors, including the "specialists", don't do this whole "thing" very well. After 10+ yrs. of 240mgs. of daily Oxycontin (and more, at times!), oxycodone IR tabs & liquid, and/or Fentanyl lollipops (400‘s > 800’s) for breakthrough pain; I'm thinking that a taper might be the path with the least risk of medical complications. I'd really like to read your advice on this. Again, thank you for your willingness to help. Your words of assurance are a real comfort to me as I begin this process, truly!
