    Default Time to quit

i have been takin hydrocodone for a little over 6 years now. At first I was taking them for fun and would only take 1 or 2 in the evening time. Well we all know where this road leads to. Just yesterday i took 14 10/325. So needless to say the progression has gotten me to that point. I also have found myself buyin oxycodone lately which i told myself i would never do. I have experienced withdrawals many times and have never been strong enough to get through it. But this time is dfferent. I really just cant afford to do it anymore. I find myself coming up with any way possible to get my hands on money. Payday loans, overdrafting my bank account, etc. I am sure I am probably not the only one who has went thru this. But i am TIRED OF IT.

So i read up on the Thomas Recipe. I went and bought the vitamins, b6, and L Tyrosine. I took my last hydros last night about 10pm. I woke up this morning and took the B6 and L tyrosine. I have to say I am not feeling alll too bad. I know I am going to go downhill a bit as the day goes on and especially tomorrow and the next day. I just want to make it to day 5. That is usually when I start turning the corner. I havent made i to day 5 but once. I quit for almost a month and a half a few years ago and was so proud of myself. I didnt even want a pill. Then I wanted to see how I reacted to taking 1 pill and here I am buying oxy now. So trust me. this time when i quit there will be no more taking them. PERIOD. I am just wondering is there anyone else on here that is on day 1 or 2 that wants to share their experience. There seems to be a lot of nice people here and it would be greatly appreciated if any of you would like to give me some encouragement. I could really use it. Thanks guys!

You sound so ready to do this!!!! Hydro's were my drug as well, so I know what you are going through with this, but you know you can do this. I know the feeling: 1 is too many and 1000 are never enough. It is time to turn the corner for you. You can make it to day 5 and you can make it on into infinity. I am proud of you for taking the plunge and working towards sobriety. One of the things your post emphasizes without saying it is that it's easy to get clean, even with the w/d, it's hard to stay that way. Do you have a support system close to you? Someone you can talk to? If not I highly suggest NA or therapy if possible.
Day 1 usually made me really sleepy, day 2 not so bad, day 3, well, what can I say? I jumped from about the same amount you were taking around 10-12 10/500 per day, sometimes up to 15. I can't believe now I could even tolerate that much!
One thing that I'm going to suggest is that you move your thread into the "need to talk" section because there is much more traffic there and you WILL find others who are doing exactly what you are. People here are very supportive. I wish you luck and post away!!!
