    hi Jacob,
How old is he? If he is young it doesn't have to ba big problem. He just need to understand that it's gonna bring him anything good, I mean spending such a long time in front of the computer. I tking that you should go with him to the specialist. You can also install the parental control like PCWebControl to block access to computer or particular applications.
There is also another option that he will grow up, start to be interesting in girls, become more sociable. Try to encourage him to go out, spend some time with friends.

Default Addiction to Computer and Internet

Hi, I might be a late to this reply but I just want to share my opinion about a person's addiction to computer and Internet. Actually, this is not new anymore to young boys these days, even girls and adults has been putting so much time to internet especially to online games. However, the only remedy that I can see here is to divert the attention of your son to other things that he is also interested. It might not be too fast but you need to motivate him in doing so. I hope this will help a little to your current worries about your him.

You should take your son to a good psychiatrist who have lots of experience in this field. You can take greed him of other good things. like his favorite food, his favorite ground game ,his favorite dress and other things he wants to do in his life.

Hi JacobSa your problem with your child has been one the most common nowadays. In such case, I would advise you to have a heart to heart talk with him and make him understand the advantages of his being too addictive to online games or rather the internet. You might as well, find a way also to divert his attention to other things like sports that he might be interested too. I think, this will overcome his preference to computer most of the time.

Oooh, my brother has this exact problem too. If we don't give him access to computer games and the internet, he wrecks things in our house. From the dvd remote to electric fans, to his plastic drawer, and more. Having a heart to heart talk doesn't have any effect. My father makes this worse since he doesn't really discipline my brother and instead, tries to avoid the hassle by just giving in to what my brother wants. Worse, my brother sometimes hits or kicks my mother who has poor health.

He doesn't need a shrink or meds.Just sacrifice month and cut the net off.Its not going to kill him.He might learn something good like self control or how to interact and socialize in the physical world. If you take him to a shrink you'll just start him on a life of meds you could've avoided.Doctors don't take the place of parenting.
If you do billing online use a friends or go to library.Small price to pay to break a cycle
