    Default Adderall

one of my clients smokes and takes adderall xr. Would any side effects be stimulated even more by smoking? or would there be certain risks for him?

    Hi,

Adderall (Something like amphetamine) is metabolized by the cytochrome P450 system (in particular, the 2D6 enzyme). Smoking would therefore reduce the blood-drug level via a mechanism of inducing the liver enzyme, which may interfere with the management of the ADHD conditions.

You should by all means persuade your client to stop smoking anyway.
