With single-dose, its maximum period to stay is 9 hours but if you are going to take the test then buprenorphine can be detected in your urine for up to 3 days after one single dose.

Actually Dave, this is 100% incorrect. Taking an opiate while on Sub will NOT put you into withdrawal. It's the other way around. If you take a sub while opiates are still in your system, you will be thrown into withdrawal. That's why Sub docs say you must already be going through withdrawal when you come to see them.

Subs have a half-life of approximately 37 hours, so every 37hrs, half of the drug will be out of your system. That's why 4mg would take about 13 days to be "completely" out of your system. Of course this all depends on each individuals body type, metabolism, lifestyle, etc.

    Here's an example using 24hr half-life (it's just easier):

How many times would it take to keep dividing 4 by half to get to 0. It's 9 times.
    (4/2=2)
    (2/2=1)
(1/2=.5) and so on til you get to zero.

So using the 24hr example, it would take 9 days to be out of your system.
If you actually use 37hrs it's longer, about 13 days. So anywhere from 9 days plus, is how long it takes to get out of the system. That's not saying it's still affecting you, it's just still in there.

Suboxone can be detected through drug screening tests via blood, urine, or hair samples. RxList notes a half-life of 24-42 hours in the bloodstream for buprenorphine and just 2-12 hours for naloxone. Typical doses of buprenorphine are detectable in the urine for three days
