Default Oval White Pill- WPI 2137 (image)

I got a med kit from my ROTC for our trip to Quantico, VA and as always there’s all sorts of goodies in there. Everything from camo bandaging to SPF 15 chap stick. Of course some of them aren’t necessary for us but the packs are actually discontinued unused military med kits. I suspect they date back to WW2 judging by the water purification pills bottles, which are sealed by wax.

Anyways, each kit comes complete with a list covering all the contents but this time it had a little extra goodie. Inside the box at the bottom there was one lone pill which is pictured below, it's only text is WPI 2137 on the front with black ink. I've tried several online pill identification sites to figure out what it is but so far I have no answer. I'm returning it to my major on Monday to dispose of it but curiosity begs I know what it is. Any ideas?
