The pill you're talking about is Darvocet. And Darvocet has Codiene in it so it's classified as a narcotic.

Yes the pill is a generic version of Darvocet-N 100
    This pill contains two ingredients:
PROPOXYPHENE 100 mg and ACETAMINOPHEN 650 MG
Propoxyphene (related to codeine) is in a class of drugs called narcotic analgesics.
Acetaminophen is a less potent pain reliever that increases the effects of propoxyphene.
Together, acetaminophen and propoxyphene are used to relieve pain.
