Default Uncertain if real Valium tablets

I received pills in the mail today that are supposedly Valium, but they don't seem to have any effect on me. They are round, white and say "valium 10" on one side and are white with four scorings on the other side. They came prepackaged from Roche, but say they were manufactured in India. This doesn't seem right to me, as I was under the impression that the 10 mg Roche pills were blue. Are these completely fake pills? What are they? Thanks.

Yes, they are real 10 mg Valiums made by Nicholas Piramal in India. The 2 mg and 5 mg Valiums are also white. The pills are different diameters and thicknesses and are marked with 2, 5 or 10. The white Valiums are for distribution in India and Nepal only per Nicholas Piramal's license agreement with Hoffman LaRoche.

Here's an excerpt from an email I received back in February:

quote:Valium [Diazepam] tablet is official in Indian Pharmacopoeia. And the monograph does not permit addition of any colour to this [as also many other] formulations. That is why Valium in India is plain white, not coloured.
