    Default slight relapse

About a month ago I posted on here about how I hurt my foot and a coworker gave me a vicodin that I took after being off them for 15 months. (I enjoyed quite the vicodin/norco habit for about 7-8 years prior to stopping). Anyways I went to the doctor for my foot issue last week, but due to our lovely medical system I'm still in pain waiting for 'conformation of insurance' to see a specialist. Another friend gave me two 325/5 vicodins to help me through a brutal couple days at work. Over the past three days I took 1½ (only taking ½ per day). I realized how much I missed the feeling of being on these pain pills and sort of freaked out. Flushing my last ½ as soon as I got home yesterday. I need to come clean to somebody. Today I woke up feeling horrible, its been nearly 20 hours since I took that last half. I feel like I have minor withdrawals: light restless leg, varying degrees of being hot then cold, slightly upset stomach. I guess I should reset my days clean calander. Thankfully its my day off work today so I'll be able to rest and hope I feel better tomorrow. I just wanted to get that off my chest. Remember people addiction is a slippery slope, take it from me. 1 is too many and 1000 is never enough. Wish me luck! Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Good for you on flushing that other 1/2; not sure I could have done it. I can imagine it confused your body a bit; at Day 9 I have only just gotten past the sweaty/cold stage. I don't think you need "luck", I think you are doing just fine with your conviction to be off this evil drug.

Thank you. I guess I'm just scared. When you work as hard at something as we have for our freedom, its hard to imagine how easy it is to loose control. I'm afraid that I've cancelled out all my hard work and sobriety because my foot hurts. Kudos to you on 9 days, it gets easier every day from here on out! Best wishes-Brian

Ninja you have just had a small relapse I guess you would call it and by only taking 1 1/2 5 mg vicodins you have not cancelled out 15 months of work staying clean. You proved that by flushing the last 1/2 of a pill you had. Perhaps you do need to reset your calendar but do not beat yourself up over this because it will just make matters worse for you. I would guess that considering you only took a total of 7 1/2 mg of vicodin that you should feel just fine by tomorrow. Best wishes to you.

Thanks for the support. I'm nervous about going to work today, I still feel a little bit off today and sleep has eluded me these past couple days. But I've done this under worst conditions, so I can do this again
