You are still in precipitated withdrawal .
Time is Not a godd indicator of readiness to induce..
80 mg is a lot of methadone and the half life is long ..
I did the same thing 3 times.
But finally succeeded 2.5 years ago.

I would not keep taking the sub..

Wait until tomorrow and take just 2 mg ..
    See how u feel .

Then if ok take 2 mg more ..

Your body hS been through a lot.
    Hang in there..
It will be worth all of this I promise

    Hey Greg
Bette is correct. Take the 2 mg tomorrow and wait 90 minutes to see how u feel. You were on 80 mg methadone, i was on 60 when i did the same thing as you. Prec wds suck.
You want to induct at the lowest dose possible but might need more than 2 mg sub, so after the first dose, have some pre-cut strips ready in .5 mg doses. Bette says u may need another 2 mg but you may need less so that's why the .5mg doses.
Hang in there and try to induct on as little sub as gets you to "little to no wd." Less is more. That's the rule w subs. You will feel better on lower doses. It's an odd drug but works well for kicking methadone.
I took my last methadone one year ago.

You can certainly do as Bette suggests and that would be just fine. But I might be inclined to not take any sub for as long as you can hold out and let wd's begin again. When you can't stand it any longer then you could take less than 2mg, maybe begin with 1mg and wait at least an hour. Then add another 1mg and go from there adding .25mg - .5mg every 60 - 90 min. until stable.

You may be able to get stable on less sub - that's the goal.

    Just a thought.

I agree with both Randy and Ming.

    You could take 2 mg
    Then
Add .5 mg increments every 90 mins until stable
    Is a great idea..

I do think you will need at least 4 mg to get stable..

    Maybe a little more .

Because the 80 mg of methadone might require at least that.

Sub is a strange drug ..

    Less is more..

That is a hard concept ..
For most of us to get..

And we usually learn later than sooner..

Let us know how you are doing..
